1. Green Plank® Wood Composite Deck Tiles Installation
Tiles Installation Instructions for existing concrete patio, balcony or rooftop deck, pools and spas
If you are laying the tiles over existing concrete patio, then almost no preparation is needed. As long as the concrete doesn't have any large cracks with a surface mismatch either side of the cracks, just give the area a good sweep with a broom.
Tiles Installation Instructions For Ground Application
For installing directly onto the ground, for a garden path for instance: Smooth the surface and cover with a polyethylene film at least 4 mil thick to prevent weed growth.
For better long term stability, it is better to add a few inches thickness of patio paver base (crushed gravel) on top of the polyethylene film.
Design your layout
Measure the area to be covered and calculate how many tiles you'll need. (each standard tile covers 295 x 295 millimeter.)
Start laying the tiles from one corner of the area to be covered. Place the first tile in position and then lock the adjacent tile in place by pushing it down to engage the special connecting tabs on the sides of each tile.
Continue adding tiles this way until the complete area is covered and all the tiles are securely locked in place to each adjacent tile. Different patterns or attractive borders can be made by combining the various designs available in each range.
To fit around pipes, posts or corners, just cut the required shape from the tile using a jigsaw or handsaw and lock the tile into place. Making a template of light cardboard the same size as the tile makes the task even easier and avoids any errors in cutting the tile to shape. Any screws in cut out sections should be replaced at appropriate points in the remaining part of the tile to ensure that all slats are securely fastened to the base.
2. Green Plank® Wood Composite Decking Installation
Green Plank® Wood Composite Decking products can be nailed, sawed, drilled and routed using standard wood working tools. In addition, Green Plank® Wood Composite Decking products are free of knots and grain which allows for easy hammering, drilling and clean cuts.
Green Plank® Wood Composite Decking products can be used with standard connection hardware such as bolts, nuts, washers and tie rods. In most instances, it is recommend that quality stainless hardware be used, particularly in highly corrosive, marine environments.
Because Green Plank® Wood Composite Decking offers consistent color throughout, a conventional sander can be used to remove surface gouges or scratches once the installation is complete. Green Plank® can also be buffed to cover simple surface abrasions.
Maintaining Green Plank® Wood Composite Decking products is easy. Green Plank® Wood Composite Decking does not creep or corrode and absorbs very little moisture, therefore sealing and/or painting is never required. For preserving Green Plank® Wood Composite Decking's original finish, simply clean the plank with soap and water. For graffiti stains, we recommend using a conventional all-purpose cleaner.
